The ITS World Congress honored the Industry Award to PT MRT Jakarta in recognition of their outstanding innovation and achievements in the implementation of intelligent transport systems (ITS)

Dubai, 18 September 2024 – PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has been honored with the Industry Award 2024 at the 30th Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress. The award was presented to Tuhiyat, President Director of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), by Akio Yamamoto, Secretary General of ITS Asia Pacific, during the ITS World Congress Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Center on Wednesday, 18 September 2024. This accolade recognizes MRT Jakarta’s significant innovations and achievements in advancing intelligent transport systems, particularly in Indonesia.

The award highlights PT MRT Jakarta's dedication and unwavering commitment to maintaining integrity as the foundation of the company. “The integrity and innovation demonstrated by MRT Jakarta's organization play a crucial role in positioning us as a world-class metro operator,” said Tuhiyat, President Director of PT MRT Jakarta. He also expressed hope that this recognition will elevate Indonesia's profile, showcasing MRT Jakarta, on the international stage as a modern and adaptive urban transportation provider committed to foster a culture of urban mobility and promote environmentally-friendly and sustainable urban development.

Akio Yamamoto, Secretary General of ITS Asia Pacific, expressed his support, stating, “PT MRT Jakarta has set a new standard for public transportation in Indonesia with its advanced technology and infrastructure. Their innovations in signaling and operations, modern automatic platform doors, and efficient tunnel boring machines make MRT Jakarta a leader in the region, especially in Indonesia. The Industry Award 2024, presented by the ITS World Congress, honors companies and organizations that have made significant innovations in their products or services, played a key role in developing and implementing intelligent transport systems, and led the ITS community. This award is part of the ITS World Congress Hall of Fame, established in 2010 to celebrate pioneers and innovators in the ITS field. The Hall of Fame provides a valuable platform to highlight and share outstanding, visionary, and innovative ITS implementations on an international stage.
